How many passenger places does a minibus seat total mean?

The range includes 7, 9, 12, 15 and 17 seat groups, and every total includes the driver. Luggage capacity is a separate consideration. Give the passenger number and bags together so the exact seating group can be checked against your dates, driver eligibility and available vehicle.

Can the proposed driver use every minibus in the range?

No single entitlement covers the whole range. Each driver needs an in-date licence held for at least two years; the general 23-70 age policy is subject to vehicle and insurer checks. Category B generally covers up to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight and no more than nine seats including the driver. Conventional 15 and 17 seat minibuses, also counting the driver, generally require D1 and normally a minimum age of 25. Only a supplier-confirmed sub-3.5-tonne Lite Bus may have different criteria; that is not guaranteed. The exact vehicle, weight, driver age, licence categories, points, convictions, passenger count, journey, use and insurer approval must be checked.
